About

Transform, evolve, change

In astronomy, an eclipse is when one celestial object moves into the shadow of another. When the moon comes comes between the Earth and the sun, it temporarily blocks the sun from being visible. In the study of birds, an eclipse means that the bird is molting, shedding its old feathers and making way for new growth. These processes of transformations and transitions seem similar to those which we experience in our lives. There are expected and unexpected transitions and changes we experience which sometimes create distress and discontentment. I believe that we are doing our best to survive and thrive in a world that at times can seem harsh. Humans have an innate ability to survive seemingly impossible circumstances which speaks to the inner resilience and power to adapt that exists within all of us. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field and as a person in recovery, I am passionate about helping others. I understand the pain, confusion, and fear involved with beginning to make the changes necessary to live a fulfilling and authentic life. My approach to therapy is eclectic, I believe in tailoring treatment to the individual I am working with. Trauma can lead to a number of ineffective means of coping, including substance abuse. The connection between trauma, substance abuse, and other destructive means of coping can keep us stuck and lonely. Recovery means learning to discover and nurture the path to a healthy and connected life. _____________________________________________ I am a sex and body positive, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, polyamory-friendly clinician and am knowledgeable and informed with BDSM/kink, fetish, sex work, alternative sexual expression, and non-monogamy. - Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II - 20+ hours of Body Positive continuing education - Working towards Positive Sexuality Certification through the Center of Positive Sexuality
